MAZDA 323 1.6i factory new

In Europe in the 1980s, a popular car never had to be large, have a big engine, or an eye-catching appearance. To achieve the right level of sales, an economical engine, sufficient space for four people, and… a sedan body type were enough. A trunk closed in a separate shape was associated at that time with the elegant silhouette of a limousine, and there was no strong argument for part of the clientele to think about taking a seat in a hatchback or station wagon. The Mazda 323 1.6i was also available in a version resembling a miniature cruiser. The presented specimen is another from Heinz Macchi's collection – a Swiss dealer who believed that it was better to keep the car for himself than to lower its price in a New Year's promotion. The Mazda still retains its factory condition, having only 84 km on the odometer. Mazda 323 1.6i
